Hyper V backup, a quick overview
Hyper V guest VMs can be backed up by a backup module inside the guest VM’s OS. This will typically be a file system backup. This method is used when a bare-metal VM backup is also occurring. Because your Hyper V server(s) will run in the cloud or on enterprise hardware with failover, they should not fail. The most significant risk is often from malicious or accidental data loss, and we can protect against that.
